After last year’s critically acclaimed open air productions of Shakespeare’s
classic plays Macbeth & The Taming of the Shrew staged within the grounds
of The Walker Ground, this award winning professional theatre company
invites you to witness their exciting new productions. First up is
Shakespeare’s classic comedy Much Ado About Nothing which will be set in
the Elizabethan period where the ladies are dressed in beautiful Shakespearean
attire whilst the men appear in doublet and hose and codpieces galore! Next is
Shakespeare’s fantastical final play The Tempest. This classic story is set on Prospero’s
desolate island where monsters and spirits abound. See both of these plays and
witness passion & despair, loss & hope, love & hate, comedy &
tragedy. Both productions will have a full cast of 18 actor/musicians that will
help to bring these terrific plays to life.

Finally, the Principal Theatre Company will be staging their first ever children’s show, the classic story
The
Adventures of Robin Hood and Maid Marion. Robin’s glorious exploits are set in
the good old days of Sherwood Forest, where our hero steals from the rich and
gives to the poor. See Robin sword fighting with the Sheriff of Nottingham; see
Little John, Will Scarlet and Friar Tuck skirmishing with the King’s men; and
witness the beautiful Maid Marion seeing off the attentions of King John only
to fall into the arms of the outlawed Robin of Locksley.

These three fabulous plays will be the highlights of the 2011 theatrical calendar and definitely a date for the
diary.
